A hundred and thirty-three Chinese enterprises were included on the 2020 Fortune Global 500 List released on Aug 10, 48 of them are central SOEs.

China Petrochemical Corporation, State Grid Corporation of China and China National Petroleum Corporation rank second, third and fourth, respectively.

There were 129 Chinese enterprises on last year's Fortune Global 500 List, and for the first time surpassing the number of companies from the United States, which was 121.

It's quite eye-catching that on this year's list there are 124 enterprises based on the Chinese mainland (including Hong Kong companies), more than the number of US-based companies, 121 in total.  

Adding those based in Taiwan, a total of 133 Chinese enterprises made the list.
