 2020-07-09

Since the beginning of this year, been focused on “fighting against epidemic and stabilizing foreign trade”, Ansteel Group has actively enhanced the communication and cooperation with all the production bases, suppliers, service providers, railway bureaus, customs, ports and local government departments to improve response speed and ensure the stable and smooth operation of business.

Facing the impact of epidemic, Ansteel Group took many measures to reduce the adverse impact on export. Firstly, it boosted the development of markets along the “Belt and Road” and actively expanded pipeline steel market in Middle East and India. It was the first time for Ansteel to reach an agreement with APC Pipe Plant, Saudi Arabia to supply pipeline steel. 14,500 tons of hot-rolled J55 steel for pipeline was successively sold. The first batch of 1,000 tons of such steel has reached the destination port. It also successfully supplied 3,220 tons of hot edge-cutting plates to Dhaka Subway Project, Bangladesh.

Secondly, export trade mode was innovated. Ansteel cooperated with a trade investment company to establish overseas warehouses for the first time and made overseas spot sales of wire rods. It established preliminary partnership with a private enterprise in South China to export 35,500 tons of thin galvalume products.

Thirdly, it made all-out efforts to defuse the risk of COA (Contract of Affreightment) and reduce logistics cost. It urged a shipping company to learn all the regulations against the epidemic in the ports of various countries and strictly obey them, arrange shipping date reasonably to ensure the smooth linkage of vessel and. It developed new ways of COA execution and sublease and made every effort to solve the problem of inexecution of Japan’s COA. This improved the management capability of spot goods in ports and therefore reduced the cargo damage by 14.3% year-on-year.

Ansteel Group International Trade Corporation Ltd. is the unified foreign trade window and international trade settlement platform of Ansteel Group. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, the company has closely tracked the changes of COVID-19 in terms of the possible risks caused by the epidemic to the export contract, evaluated the market trend in the future and made plans for the follow-up export. It has paid close attention to the operation of domestic ports, railway and airports, arranged transportation in advance and carried out storage, customs declaration and shipment in an orderly way; focused on shipping date, arranged logistics properly, reserved sufficient shipping period to ensure the contract could be executed on schedule; urged the salespersons of overseas companies to actively contact customers. After taking these efficient measures, the overall foreign trade of Ansteel Group has achieved progress while maintaining its stability.
