Recently, Xichang Steel and Vanadium Company of Pansteel, affiliated to Ansteel Group, completed the delivery of order with all 88,000t X80M pipeline steel, fully meeting the requirements of its customer of the delivery progress and product quality.

It’s reported that China-Russia east line natural gas pipeline project (the project) is a major energy channel under the cooperation between China and Russia and also the long-distance natural gas pipeline with the largest diameter and highest pressure in China. In terms of the manufacturing plan for X80M spiral submerged arc welding pipe with thickness of 18.4mm and 21.4mm, the research and development, compared with the same grade and thickness of the straight seam submerged arc welding pipe, is more difficult. To actively respond to the demands of its customer, since the beginning of 2017, Xichang Steel and Vanadium Company has established an elite team with other relevant companies to carry out the research and development of X80M pipeline steel product. In this connection, they have tackled problems including poor stability and big dispersion of low temperature drop hammer tearing performance of super thick pipeline steel in high steel grade successively, realizing the best matching of strength and toughness for hot-rolled coil and effectively improving the appearance quality defects of pipeline steel with high strength and thick specification. Appraised by domestic experts and inspected by many large-sized pipe manufacturers affiliated to CNPC, the comprehensive quality of the product fully met the requirements of the project.
