At 2p.m. of February 27, a train, loaded with nearly 4,000t hundred-meter long cut-to-length rails, left from Pansteel Vanadium Rail Beam Plant to Fangchenggang, Guangxi Province. The batch of rail will be delivered overseas and arrive at the construction site of Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway (the railway), Indonesia, a landmark project of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The railway is a landmark project of the “Belt and Road” Initiatives and an important linkage of Maritime Silk Road. After years of continuous efforts, the construction of the railway has entered a critical stage. Pansteel is the sole supplier of the railway. Jointly confirmed and promoted by the leaders of both China and Indonesia, the project is the first order of Chinese high-speed railway to export the whole system, full factors and the complete production chain and is a flagship project of development strategy alignment and practical cooperation between China and Indonesia in new era.

On October 16, 2015, China and Indonesia officially signed an agreement on the construction of the railway. Pansteel immediately established a working team with China Railway Material Group, Stecol Corporation and Fangchenggang Port Group Co., Ltd. to actively seek the most economic, the most efficient and safest logistics and transportation plan for the project. Cooperating with relevant companies, Pansteel upgraded and revamped infrastructures of Fangchenggang Port and set the best way to cut the long cut-to-length rail to solve the bottleneck of safe transportation of the long cut-to-length rail export. Relying on the relatively complete and advanced rail welding experimental base in China, the expert team provided customers with complete rail selection, welding and route application proposals. The expert team visited Indonesia for many times and made a reasonable plan to transport rails according to the characteristics of geology, climate and logistics along the railway. In January, 2019, Pansteel’s rail won the contract of all the rail supply for the railway project with the total weight of 38,000t for its top quality, best technical marketing service and the most feasible logistics transportation solution.
