At 2p.m. on March 10, under the expectation of production personnel at site, an Ansteel’s transport truck from northeast China was entering Shiyan Plant in Hubei Province, which affiliated to Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd.(“Dongfeng”). The truck was loaded with 911 pieces of tailored welded blanks for auto, the first batch of steel products from Ansteel after Dongfeng resumed its production. The blanks are the essential materials for Dongfeng to manufacture cannon fog cars used in the epidemic control and prevention.

Ansteel Auto Steel Marketing Center (“the center”) has been paying close attention to the progress of production resumption of its customers. A few days ago, they learned that its strategic customer --- Shiyan Plant of Dongfeng has resumed production and now is producing vehicles used in the epidemic control and prevention. Although the marketing service staff from Wuhan Steel Processing Center of Ansteel were self-isolated at home, they were terribly busy with one phone calling after another. “As the customer’s sole supplier of auto roof cover, the center must respond actively. ”

Although the epidemic situation in Wuhan is severe, it is obligatory for us to support the fight again the epidemic. On the evening of March 5, the center took hardcore measures in such emergency situation and launched “Anshan Plan”, i.e. raw materials would be sent out from Anshan, Liaoning, transferred to Dalian Steel Processing Company and then delivered to Shiyan.

On the early morning of March 6, the contract signing, financial procedures and on-site production scheduling for the raw material were completed. 30t of coils left the factory in the afternoon and arrived at Dalian Steel Processing Company in the evening.

The supplied tailor-welded blanks with big dimension and thick specification were specially customized for the vehicles used in epidemic control and prevention for Dongfeng. The personnel in charge of processing, technology and equipment from Wuhan Steel Processing Center and Dalian Steel Processing Company quickly worked together. The personnel from Dalian Steel Processing Company analyzed the production documents, optimized process parameters, purchased tooling equipment urgently and worked out the packaging standards…

At 9p.m. on March 8, 911 pieces of well-packaged tailored welded blanks were sent out urgently from Dalian to Shiyan. During transportation, two drivers took turns driving and travelled more than 2,000km to deliver the blanks to the customer’s production site in time, ensuring the continuous production of vehicles used for the epidemic control and prevention.
