On October 31, with the last steel plate being loaded, Ansteel successfully completed the supply to the Pingtan Channel Highway and Railway Bridge, driving Pingtan Bridge to break through the “bottleneck of bridgebuilding”. It is a critical control project for the newly-built Fuzhou-Pingtan Railway and Changle-Pingtan Expressway. It is also the first combined highway and railway channel-crossing bridge in China and also the longest in the world. The bridge is located in Pingtan channel, one of the largest outlet sea areas in the world, characterized by strong wind, high wave, deep water and torrent. Once considered as a “bottleneck for bridge building” by the bridge building circles, it is the most difficutle to be constructed in China.
