Recently, the reporter learned from Ansteel Group Iron and Steel Research Institute that the project of “high-strength pipeline steel working in low-temperature and high-pressure conditions” passed the assessment of Ministry of Science and Technology and was brought into the Major Special Action Plan of Important Basic Material Technology Upgrading and Industrialization in National Key R&D Program and was approved as a project. For the project, Ansteel Group is the initiator and 16 companies are participants. This is the sole project for Ansteel as an initiator in steel material field among national key R&D plan during the “13th Five-year Plan”.
As a strategic brand product of Ansteel Group, the pipeline steel made important contributions to the West-East National Gas Transmission, the second line of Shaanxi-Beijing Gas Pipeline, Sichuan-East Gas Transmission Project, the first and second line of China-Russia Crude Oil Pipelines and other national key projects. However, the research in the field of low-temperature pipeline steel is a difficult problem in the world. At present, the sole low-temperature pipeline in the world is Ulugqat pipeline in Russia. Our country is lack of experience in low-temperature pipeline construction and far behind the international level. Therefore, it is urgent to develop low-temperature and high-pressure pipeline transmission steel.
According to the related experts, after implementation, the project will play a great promotion role in types and specifications as well as quality level of high-performance pipeline steel and carbon dioxide flooding pipes in our country and provide a good-quality steel material support for establishing systematic and complete R&D system, production system, inspection assessment and application system of domestic oil and gas transmission pipeline steel and oil well tubing steel. It can provide primary creative theory, critical technical reserves and industrialization demonstration for working out corresponding standard and codes and greatly developing energy and petrochemical steel and exploiting oil and gas resources.
