Ansteel responses to the national strategy of the “Belt and Road”, actively participates in the infrastructure construction along the “Belt and Road” countries and became the sole bid-winner of China-Maldives Friendship Bridge after helping “Pakistan” construction and supply for the spherical tank project of LPG terminal in Hambantota, Sri Lanka.

At the beginning of selecting materials in 2015, the contractor ofChina-MaldivesFriendshipBridgeonce faced a situation of no steel available due to the complicated climate environment. Based on the trust of development strength for Ansteel in weather-resistant bridge steel for many years, the bridge contractor was attracted to come to the research team of bridge steel under Ansteel Group Iron and Steel Research Institute hoping to get technical support. Through technical exchanges many times, the research team combined the climate characteristics inMaldivesand finally recommended the contractor the 3Ni series ocean atmosphere resistant steel independently developed by Ansteel.

Over the past two years, Ansteel Bridge Steel Production, Sales and Research Team kept tracking from the beginning to the end, participated in the design of China-Maldives Friendship Bridge, continuously adjusted process and formulation by combining local climate conditions in Maldives and finally developed a new product with originality for Maldives. Meanwhile, the team cooperated with a well-known welding material plant in China to develop its corresponding weather-resistant welding material and successfully passed the welding assessment of the contractor and filled domestic gap.
