In the first half of the year, Ansteel launched benchmarking management activity, in which 60 indexes realized overtaking. The index of “business development capability” and “profit making capability” made more progress. This was learned from the Management Innovation Department of Ansteel Group by the journalist recently.

    At the beginning of this year, Ansteel Group launched 2014-2015 benchmarking management activity and built a benchmarking system covering 101 indexes. Ansteel Group Corporation assessed each benchmarking indexes of each company in both index accomplishment value and progress amplitude. If a company is better than the benchmarking unit in index accomplishment value or progress amplitude, or better than what itself used to be, the index will be considered as the progress one; if the index in a company is lower than what itself used to be and has a great difference from benchmarking, it will be considered as setback index. Through evaluation, 60 indexes in 101 benchmarking indexes are better than before in the past half year of 2014.

    Benchmarking creates profits. In 21 indexes for making profit, 8 indexes are better than that of benchmarking unit and 8 indexes are better than what itself used to be.

    Benchmarking reduces cost. In 21 indexes of operation and cash capability, 8 indexes are better than before. The accomplishment values for 3 indexes, i.e. the purchasing price of coking coal and the purchasing cost of injection coal in Anshan Iron and Steel Corporation and the turnover rate of current assets in Angang Steel Co., Ltd. are better than that of benchmarking unit. Ansteel Mining Company accomplished control target value for the unit manufacturing cost index of iron concentrate.

    Benchmarking improves capability. Among 31 indexes for business development capability, the accomplishment value or progress amplitude for 8 indexes are better than that of benchmarking unit and 14 indexes are better than what itself used to be.

    Benchmarking promotes development. Among 19 indexes for innovation and green development capability, the accomplishment value or progress amplitude for 7 indexes are better than that of benchmarking unit and 7 indexes are better than what itself used to be.
