Recently, the assessing results for the 16th Chinese Patent Award were announced on the website of National Intellectual Property Right Bureau. Two invention patents of Ansteel won the excellence award of the 16th Chinese Patents, i.e. “a metallurgical waste product as the cooling agent of converter and its application method” and “a low-cost and clean steel production method”. This is the new achievement for Ansteel to implement the patent strategy of “attaching equal importance to quantity and quality and focusing on layout”.

    The invention patent of Angang Steel Co., Ltd. ---- “a metallurgical waste product as the cooling agent of converter and its application method” opens up a new way for the comprehensive utilization of metallurgical iron-bearing solid waste, solves the technical problem of low cost treatment and recycling for steel waste. Due to low investment and running cost, it has become a successful model for steel enterprise to dispose iron-bearing solid waste with low cost, which conforms to the “3R” principle of recycling economy in China and has broad application prospect. A series of core technologies, for example dust lump is self reduced quickly in converter and used as scrap steel, are the original creation of Ansteel, which formed a patent group (6 patents) and standard system (6) with independent intellectual property right. After their appraisal, the metallurgical experts organized by the Science and Technology Department of Liaoning Province think that the core technologies are in the international leading level at present. The invention won the golden prize of 20th National Exhibition of Inventions and its affiliated patent won the golden prize of the 7th International Exhibition of Inventions.
