Ansteel Realized a New Breakthrough In the Development of Industrial Pure Iron

Recently, two heats of high-purity industrial pure iron for Fe-based non-crystalline material were successfully melted by means of conventional slab in Steelmaking Department of Bayuquan Iron and Steel Division under Angang Steel Co., Ltd. of Ansteel Group Corporation. Its quality control can replace imported products with the same type. Normally billet and bloom caster is used for producing such kind of industrial pure iron in China and slab caster is rarely reported for production. In foreign countries, a few enterprises have the capability to produce slab.

In recent years, non-crystalline material has a rapid development. It is better than silicon steel sheet in high saturation flux density, magnetic conductivity and iron loss. It can save 60-70% energy for manufacturing power distribution transformer instead of silicon steel. As the main raw material of Fe-based non-crystalline material, high-purity industrial pure iron has a great market demand. The remarkable characteristics of such kind of pure iron is that for all the elements excluding iron, the lower the better. During production, oxygen-bearing casting technology is used. Through the examination, all the composition of high-purity industrial pure iron for melting Fe-based non-crystalline material reached the foreign standard of the same type products. The cast products have good surface quality, which fully meets the customer’s requirement. The successful development and production of the industrial pure iron makes the development of industrial pure iron in Ansteel realize new breakthrough and create new profit growth point.
