The urban light rail constructed by China Railway Group Limited in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia was formally opened on September 20. This is Africa's first officially operated modern urban light railway. And all the rails laid on the light railway are from Pansteel.
It is reported, the Addis Ababa urban light railway transit has a total length of 34 kilometers. The construction was started by China Railway Group Limited on January 31, 2012 with cost of almost $500 million.
