Following becoming the successful supplier of steel for Shanghai Railway Yangtze River Bridge and Padma Bridge of Bangladesh, Angang Steel Co. Ltd. won again the contract of world-class bridge steel and supplied 53,000 tons of steel to Humen Bridge No. 2. Presently 20,000 tons of products have been delivered to the customer.


As an important river channel to connect Guangzhou and Dongguan at the east and west of Pearl River estuary, Humen Bridge No. 2 is one of the important infrastructures planed in reform and development blueprint for the Pearl River Delta region within the year 2008 to 2020. The total length of the project route is 12.89 kilometers. The main part of the project is bridge engineering. There are two large bridges of more than 1 kilometer across the river. Among them Dasha Water Bridge of 1200 meters is suspension type with twin towers, single span and steel box girder. Nizhou Water Bridge of 1688 meters is suspension type with twin towers, double spans and steel box girder. After completion it will be the steel-box-girder suspension bridge with the longest span in the world.


Humen Bridge No. 2 has normal width of 40.5 meters. The steel box girder of the main bridge has full width of 49.7 meters. It is the widest integrated steel box girder in the world. Ansteel production, marketing and research team of bridge steel has been actively following up the project progress. With fine quality, excellent service and good brand image, the product has won the favor of customers and two contracts of a total of 53,000 tons of steel box girders, which accounted for nearly 70% of total supply of steel box girder.
