The Guiyang-Kunming section of Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway, dubbed as China's most beautiful high-speed railway, was put into operation on December 28, 2016, marking the whole line of the longest east-west high-speed railway in China - Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway, has been opened to traffic. Meanwhile, the whole line of YunGui High-speed Railway (previously called Nanning-Kunming High-speed Railway) was also put into operation, which marks the basically established skeleton of “Four Longitudinal and Four Transverse lines” of China’s high-speed railway network has been turning to a new framework of "Eight Longitudinal and Eight Transverse Lines". It’s worth mentioning that rails for Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway and YunGui High-speed Railway are mainly supplied by Pangang of Ansteel Group.
