From June 5 to 6, the 9th International CSR Forum & Ceremony to Announce the 2013 Golden Bee CSR• China Honor Roll was held in Beijing. Ansteel Group Corporation ranked among “Golden Bee Corporation”, at the same time Ansteel’s program of “implementing the comprehensive utilization of iron tailing resource and improving green benefits” was selected into the sample cases of 2013 Golden Bee Responsible Competitiveness. 

    Since 2007, China WTO Tribune of Ministry of Commerce together with other international professional organizations has been implementing the activities to seek for bee-like corporations and the research of corporation social responsibility practice. More than 2100 corporations have participated in the activities, in which 204 corporations won the “Golden Bee Corporations”. “Golden Bee Corporation” has become another name of responsible enterprise. Ansteel successively won “2009 Golden Bee CSR• Award for Leading Enterprise” and “Golden Bee 2010 Excellent CSR Report• Award for Leading Enterprise”. 

    As an extra-large scale steel complex，Ansteel Group continuously strengthens social responsibility and the construction of organization system, flow system, institution system and indicator system for sustainable development, merges the social responsibility into its development strategy and strategic performance assessment and lays a management foundation for deepening continuous promotion of corporation social responsibility and sustainable development. Due to continuously carrying out green development model, energy saving and emission reduction made new breakthroughs, energy conservation and environment protection transformation and treatment made new progress and the main indicators for energy saving and emission reduction reached a great achievement. Therefore, Ansteel was awarded the title of “Excellent Enterprise of Energy Saving and Emission Reduction During Eleventh Five-year Plan” by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and one of the “National 100 Greening Outstanding Contribution Units” by the Ministry of Land and Resources. It was also raised as the pilot and model enterprise of “integration of informatization and industrialization” to promote energy conservation and emission reduction in the first batch by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Ansteel becomes one of the two steel enterprises to have the qualification to carry out energy management project and apply for the state financial award in China.      Ansteel Group was awarded “Golden Bee Corporation”. Meanwhile, its enterprise social responsibility performance of “implementing the comprehensive utilization of iron tailing resource and improving green benefits” was selected into the sample cases of 2013 Golden Bee Responsible Competitiveness. Tailing is one of solid wastes with the lowest comprehensive utilization rate. Making every effort to implement the comprehensive utilization of tailing is the inevitable requirement for Ansteel Group to implement scientific outlook on development, coordinate the harmony of man and nature, develop ecological civilization, build energy-saving and environment-friendly society and exercise enterprise social responsibility. Ansteel Group aims at improving resource utilization and benefits, actively carries out the comprehensive utilization research of tailing resources, speeds up and drives the transformation of mining enterprises from metallurgical raw material base to comprehensive resource base, realizes the reduction of quantity and emission of tailings and then the comprehensive utilization and finally realizes the target of building a mining enterprise without waste.

   It’s said that 314 corporations and 46 non-corporation organizations participated in the evaluation and selection for 2013 Golden Bee CSR• China Honor Roll. Finally 36 corporations were awarded “Golden Bee Corporation” and became the pioneer and example of Chinese corporations to exercise social responsibility practice.
