Ansteel Heavy Rails Gave Great Supports to 30,000t Heavy-Haul Train in Daqin (Datong-Qinhuangdao) Railway

    Recently, “No.1 domestic heavy railway”-----Daqin (Datong-Qinhuangdao) Railway successfully realized the leaps of train traction weight from 20,000 tons to 30,000 tons. What Ansteel people are proud of is that all the heavy rails of 30,000t heavy-duty train in Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway were supplied by Ansteel.

    Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway, the first passage for “West-East Coal Transportation” in China, is a heavy-haul railway with the largest transportation volume in China, and also one of the busiest railways in our country. Since 2007, 75kg/mU77MnCr, 75kg/mU75V, 75kg/mU78CrV, 60kg/mU78CrV heavy rails and switch rails produced by Heavy Section Plant of Angang Steel Co., Ltd. and Pansteel Vanadium Rail Beam Plant were laid in the railway. Ansteel Group undertook the supply of all rails of heavily loaded line in the railway. The first batch of 75kg/m heavy rails created a very good achievement, i.e. the total weight of 2.7 billion tons passed the railway after changing rail once, which exceeded far from the expected target-----900 million tons and broke the world record many times. According to the surface status of lower heavy rail, the wear of Ansteel heavy rail still hasn’t reach the service limit, and the index inspection also showed that all the rails met the technical conditions for continuous “service”.

    With the rapid development of domestic railway heavy transportation, the transportation volume and axle weight are becoming larger and larger. Especially in recent years, the annual transportation volume of Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway was more than four times larger than the original one. Therefore, Ansteel Group continuously strengthens the technical problem tackling of heavy rail, quality improvement and technical innovation, improves the purity of steel quality and the product up-to-standard rate, reduces damage ratio of rails so as to make the product quality better and better. In 2008, the Heavy Section Plant of Angang Steel Co., Ltd.   successfully rolled bainite 60AT rail, by means of which Harbin Railway Bureau produced bainite tongue rail. These bainite tongue rails were used for the switch rail of Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway, which made the average service life four times longer than that of heat treatment U75V and reduced the railway closing time because of changing tongue rail and thus brought remarkable economic benefit for railway transportation. In February 2012, Ansteel Group developed and realized the batch production of U77MnCr and(PG4)75N new section high-strength rail with Panzhihua brand and adapted itself to the transportation mode of heavy railway with large transportation volume, high axle weight and high density. By relying on high-quality products and strong technical research strength, Ansteel’s heavy rail passed the “test” of Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway with the world largest annual transportation volume and became the favorite product for domestic heavy railway.
