After a few month of trial application, trenchless drill pipe series products with Ansteel’s characteristics and 4130 steel grade were announced to be developed successfully. At present, nearly 600t products have been supplied.
 
  Trenchless technology refers to a new construction technology, in which various kinds of rock and soil digging and excavation equipment are used to dig very small parts on the ground in pilot and directional drilling methods to lay, change and repair various underground pipeline, cables, wires and other utilities. Trenchless technology has been widely used to the construction of new pipes and repair of old pipes in water supply and drainage, electricity, communications and fuel gas and also the protection of cultural relics and historic buildings. In order to expand market, the Product Development Department of Angang Steel Co., Ltd. and the Seamless Pipe Plant established a research group in this May to develop trenchless drilling pipe.

    In order to accelerate the development progress, the research group visited the market, actively seeks for the common development with the processing customers, and reaches the cooperation with two drilling tool manufacturers. It also designs the steel grades and chemical composition, determines production process parameters of steel pipe and trial manufactures the products. In May, a customer orders 21 tons of products for trial application for the first time. And then the customer said the processing performance of the product was very good and all the technical indexes met the design requirements of trenchless drilling tools.
